VR Can Drive Revenue, Profit and Customer Loyalty

NEW DATE FOR THIS EVENT IS NOVEMBER 16TH.

If you’ve ever seen the movie Night at the Museum starring Ben Stiller, you saw a CMO’s worst nightmare as the Museum of Natural History in NYC is portrayed as a metaphorical dinosaur whose static historical representations were quickly becoming no match for today’s digital avatars. That is… until it’s revealed that all of the exhibits come to life every night after closing due to the magnificent power of an ancient Egyptian tablet. The museum’s fortunes take a significant turn for the better when patrons get a glimpse of what happens at night during regular business hours as the exhibits seemingly come to life before their very eyes – albeit in a more controlled manner.

But that’s Hollywood, and real Museum Marketers are faced with the increasingly difficult job of driving attendance and membership without the benefit of a magic tablet in an increasingly competitive digital world. Or are they?

Kathy Greif – Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for The Dali Museum in St. Petersburg and AMA Tampa Bay’s September Keynote Speaker – has turned traditional museum marketing on its head by introducing Virtual Reality that allows Dali Museum patrons to take a journey into the creative mind of world famous Spanish surrealist – Salvatore Dali. This award-winning VR experience has garnered visitor acclaim, online praise and international recognition through a multitude of industry awards, including the prestigious Cannes Cyber Lion GOLD; a Webby People’s Voice award; and a Facebook Silver award for Innovation, among others.

Kathy will explain how her marketing intuition and past experiences at Tervis, HSN and Discovery Communications allowed her to challenge the status quo in the museum industry by providing attendees with a behind-the-scenes view of the VR experience, including why virtual reality was used, results from this experience, and how the Museum is now leveraging it to reach broader audiences.

The event will be held at The Dali Museum and the ticket price will include food and beverages. AMA TB Members only will also receive free admission to the museum the day of the event. “Enjoy the remarkable marriage of art and technology in Dreams of Dali, a virtual reality experience, as you explore Dali’s painting Archaeological Reminiscence of Millet’s “Angelus.” Immerse yourself in the world of the Surrealist master like never before in this encounter, venturing into the towers, peering from them to distant lands and discovering surprises around every corner. We imagine Dali himself, known in his lifetime as what we now call an “earlier adopter” of new technology, would applaud this inspiring homage to his 1935 painting.”

Seating is limited to the first 120 guests to sign up, so REGISTER today.
