Volunteer of the Quarter: Amy Auerbach
Congratulations to our Q4 Volunteer of the Quarter – Amy Auerbach! Amy actually fills not just one, but TWO volunteer roles for AMA Tampa Bay – she is the Director of Event Logistics on the Programming committee and Director of Stage Management on the Marketer of the Year committee. Amy is an essential part of planning and making sure all of our chapter’s events run smoothly. Spoiler alert – we have some good ones coming up! Read on to hear more from Amy on her favorite parts of volunteering for AMA Tampa Bay.
How did you originally get involved with the AMA and what was your path to joining as a volunteer?
I got involved right away when I switched from the agency side to client side. I volunteered because I saw how dedicated the board and the volunteers are to the membership and I wanted to be part of that energy!
What is your favorite part about being a volunteer with the AMA Tampa Bay?
My favorite part is definitely planning our keynote luncheon events and hearing all the presentations from our great speakers. I love party planning, so this role is a great fit for me.
What have you learned from being a part of the AMA?
I’m in awe of the breadth and diversity of marketing organizations in our region.
What has been your favorite AMA event to date?
Our keynote luncheon with Feld Entertainment. I’m a huge Supercross fan and I got to ride the Virtual SX bike!
What do you do in your day job?
I work at New York Life Insurance on our digital media strategy team. I manage and optimize our investments across digital channels including social media and display for our AARP co-branded products.
If you didn’t work in marketing, what kind of work do you think you would do?
Teaching at the high school or college level
What is a little-known fact about you that AMA members may not know?
I am an avid record collector and most of my music listening happens on vinyl.
