Marketer of the Year Recap

AMA Tampa Bay held its inaugural Marketer of the Year (MOY) event Wednesday, March 23rd at the Centre Club. The ceremony recognized those marketers judged to deliver the best results-driven work in 2015.

Attendees were welcomed with beautiful views of the Bay Area and jazz music during an opening reception.

The dinner ceremony was emceed by Lissette Campos of ABC Action News. Ms. Campos welcomed the more than 150+ attendees, and introduced Chris Bush, President of AMA Tampa Bay, and Kristin Whitaker, Marketer of the Year Event Chair. Both shared opening remarks, and gave special thanks to the MOY Committee who were key to launching the event and establishing MOY as an annual celebration for AMA Tampa Bay.

Marketer of the Year Awards included the first AMA Tampa Bay Hall of Fame inductee, Educator of the Year award, Business Category awards, and a Grand Marketer of the Year award, given to the highest scored marketer across all categories. Judging was conducted by the Iowa AMA chapter.

Publix was inducted into the AMA Tampa Bay Hall of Fame. Jill Solomon, a marketing instructor at USF and AMA advisor, was named Educator of the Year. Florida Hospital Tampa was named Grand Marketer of the Year.

Twenty-six finalists were selected in 12 business categories. All campaign work was evaluated against – Business problem/opportunity, Objectives, Strategy, Tactics and Results – to determine the winners.

After the awards presentation, the MOY Committee had a raffle for two great prizes – a $13,000 Yacht Vacation Experience for eight from The Moorings, and breakfast for 10 sponsored by the Centre Club. The lucky winners were: Eric Blankenship who won the yacht trip, and Felecia Lamison who took home the breakfast for 10.

Monin, Inc. (Agency Partner Dunn & Co.) is the winner of the B2B Products and Services category.

Bluleadz is the winner of Public Relations or Advertising Firm Self Promotion and Professional Services categories.

Entravision Communications – Univision Tampa Bay is the winner of the Minority and Women Owned Business Marketing and Media Entity Self Promotion categories.

Social Business Engine (Agency Partner Find and Convert) is the winner of the Technology Products and Services category.

Noble New Gen Tangerines (Agency Partner Odato Marketing Group) is the winner of the Retail Marketing category.
