2022 Marketer of the Year Award Categories
The Print Media Award honors marketing campaigns conducted using print materials such as direct mail, print advertising, flyers, advertorials, or other print collateral to achieve the overall goal of the campaign strategy.
The Mass Media/ Broadcast Award honors the best marketing campaign using any form of mass media; TV, Radio, Billboards, or a combination of mass media efforts.
The Digital Marketing Category awards a marketing campaign that utilizes any form of digital marketing including email, online display, online video, social media, SEO, SEM, blogs, or a holistic combination of digital efforts for marketing excellence.
The B2B Marketing Award honors the best marketing campaign targeted to B2B conversions. The campaign submitted can take the shape of any form of marketing; traditional, digital, or otherwise.
Non-Profit Marketing: Small Network
The Non-Profit Marketing for Small Network Award honors a marketing campaign executed for or by non-profits that have a local Tampa Bay presence solely and use marketing dollars to reach this region only that has made an impact on the community.
Non-Profit Marketing: Large Network
The Non-Profit Marketing: Large Network Award honors a marketing initiative executed for or by non-profits that have a hub in Tampa Bay, but may not have been founded in this region and use marketing dollars to reach a regional, national, or international presence. This category may include branches of larger national non-profits as well.
This award honors marketing campaigns created and executed by marketing students who were enrolled in advertising, mass communication, marketing program, or equivalent. Students must have been enrolled in classes in both Spring and Fall semesters in 2021. Nominations can originate from individual students applying on their own or on behalf of Collegiate AMA Chapters for significant accomplishments in the field of marketing.
This award recognizes excellence in the promotion and execution of a special event (gala, fundraiser, trade show, conference, etc.) to market a brand or message-based in Tampa Bay. Events may have been conducted locally, regionally, nationally, or internationally.
The Content Marketing Award honors a B2C campaign with a focus on content strategy to share a narrative and result in a conversion. Submissions must include a minimum of 5 content marketing pieces to be considered. Materials can include print, mass media, digital components, OOH, video, white papers, or any other form of lead-generating content.
The Market Research award honors excellence within a campaign that was created and conducted from key quantitative results from a market study. Submissions should include the results of the study and how it influenced a campaign to reach a new goal or achieve success for your company or client.
Diversity in Marketing and Advertising Award
This portion of the competition will invite local marketers who address(ed) issues through their campaign relating to any disenfranchised group – BIPOC, generational, gender, cultural, disabled individuals, and the inauthentic and sometimes clichéd portrayals of different groups within current creative ads, platforms, and marketing.
The campaign should demonstrate a commitment to ensure representation and inclusion remain a priority across various campaigns and platforms, above and beyond national holidays or recognized date content (i.e., Hispanic Awareness Month, International Women’s Month).
A winning campaign recognizes the vital importance of continuously challenging perceptions and encouraging better representation and authenticity in marketing, and advertising.
2022 Marketer of the Year Annual Recognition
Educator of the Year
The Educator of the Year Award is given to a Tampa Bay area educator who has made a difference in the lives of students, as nominated by their peers, colleagues, and/or students. To qualify for this award, the educator must teach in marketing, sales, or business-related field at an institute of higher learning.
Volunteer of the Year
The Volunteer of the Year Award is given to an AMA Tampa Bay volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional service and sacrifice for the betterment of our local chapter. To qualify for this award, the volunteer must serve on one of our 12 committees for at least one year.
Hall of Fame
The AMA Tampa Bay Hall of Fame recognizes a venerable local brand that has distinguished itself in the marketing community for its excellence. The AMA Tampa Bay Board of Directors nominates several companies in the Tampa Bay area. The winner receives the majority of votes from the board.
Grand Marketer of the Year
The Grand Marketer of the Year Award is our most coveted award of the evening and is given to the top-scoring entry among all categories.
